The AA 1000 – Accountability standard has been developed with the very aim of providing support to this process, helping organizations to define their targets, to follow up the growth of the indicators, to perform audits and prepare performance reports and the system’s feedback mechanism. The involvement of the Stakeholders in this standard is approached as a critical factor at each of these stages, as a means to foment trust in the organizations and its reports.

In Brazil, the ISEA - Institute of Social and Ethical Accountability has established a cooperation with the ETHOS Institute of Companies and Social Responsibility, which was set up with the purpose of helping organizations to understand and take onboard the concept of social responsibility in the day-to-day management routines. To complement this cooperation, the IBQN (Brazilian Nuclear Quality Institute) translated and brought itself into compliance with the AA 1000 Standards, thereby acquiring the capability of offering services and training on the topic of social responsibility and ethics, based on the aforesaid standards.
